putting it all together

Hughes Marino’s chairman, CEO, and owner, Jason Hughes, has been tremendously involved in the commercial construction management market for over the years. Jason graduated from Pepperdine University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and the University of San Diego with a master’s degree in lease accounting (Cascadebusnews).

Jason Hughes is recognized as a significant person in the tenant representation area and has negotiated several Downtown San Diego’s major tenant lease negotiations. Jason Hughes pioneered new legislation, SB 1171, which became law in 2014. The new state law improves openness and justice for commercial renters in California, who must now receive written notice when engaging with a broker that represents both tenants and landlords. Hughes Marino, situated in San Diego, offers various services to the tenants and buyers it represents.

The successful Jason Hughes has a long history of speaking for and negotiating on behalf of commercial tenants, a mission he started 30 years ago and continues to this day. He has conducted lease and acquisition talks for tens of millions of square feet and is well known as an expert in his area. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, he counseled dozens of customers on how to engage their landlords to reduce or postpone their office rent. Jason Hughes and his wife Shay have participated in the commercial project management market for over 20 years. His thoughtful approach and extensive experience have made him a sought-after leader for navigating complicated agreements.
